SOLOISTANNA HAWKINS
Anna first starting performing on stage at the young age of seven she says that even then she had her heart set on a career in the arts.
When she first hit her teens Anna won the overall place two years running in the Rotorua Lockwood Aria competition and recorded her own CD “Russian Lullaby” A busy young lady she performed regularly and was also very involved in theatre at school playing the roles of Fantine, in Les Miserables, Florence, in Chess and Lucy, in Jekyll and Hyde.
Highlights include performing at Auckland ‘Christmas in the Park’ ‘Broadway Bigger Than Ever’ with Jackie Clarke, ‘Enchantment’ her own concert to sold out shows, not to mention her well known performances in the coromandel ‘Concert in the Orchard.’ Recently the nation saw her take the stage as Sarah Brightman in the TV show ‘Stars in their Eyes.’
Anna still at the beginning is excited and confident about her future, she has hopes to record and release her own CD and travel with her performing. She is known for her enthusiasm for her craft and warmth onstage “Music is a powerful way of communicating with people as it reaches past the mind and into the spirit stirring an array of emotions most importantly of which are joy, peace, hope and love.“
Anna will be performing with the TWSO at the Waikato Proms Concert in November 2012
